San Diego Blood Bank recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a ninth donation center. The new Chula Vista location replaces a temporary donation site that opened in December 2020 in Chula Vista’s Terra Nova Plaza to help collect blood at the height of the pandemic. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the San Diego Woman’s Club presented the blood bank with a check for $25,000 to support the needs of this new site. Speakers included San Diego Blood Bank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Doug Morton and Sharp Chula Vista CEO, Dr. Pablo Velez.
